EMDR and Perinatal Therapist

Licensed Clinical Social Worker | EMDR Therapist | Certified in Perinatal Mental Health

Hi, I’m Jen! I am so glad you are here!

I’m a licensed therapist with over 11 years of clinical experience, offering telehealth across New York State and Texas. Trained in EMDR and certified in perinatal mental health, I specialize in helping moms go from surviving motherhood to THRIVING in motherhood. I’m aligned with the amazing Postpartum Support International as a co-leader for The Climb Buffalo – an event raising awareness and understanding of perinatal mental wellness.

I am a proud military spouse, mama of two beautiful, young boys and a fur mama to my good boy, Roman. I have lived experience with health-related issues in pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety challenges. I know how impossible it can feel to raise tiny humans, while simultaneously juggling all of life’s demands. I’ve made it my mission to support any mama I come across, so no one ever feels alone in their experience.

Children are blessings! And yet, we live in a society where motherhood is undervalued and the pressure to “do it all” is so intense that it makes it feel impossible. It shouldn’t be that way; and it doesn’t have to be. You don’t have to do this alone.

We often hear the phrase “put your oxygen mask on first” for obvious reasons. If we run out of oxygen, we can’t help anyone else get oxygen. So how is motherhood, arguably the most demanding and yet important job out there, any different? Instead, we set unrealistic standards for ourselves…cue the shame, guilt, and self-hate when we don’t meet that said standard. I have immense appreciation for the sacrifices of motherhood and understand that a healthy mom means a healthy family! Making sacrifices does NOT mean self-neglect.

Perhaps you are noticing there are unhealed parts of you that are getting in the way of being the mom you always thought you would be. I will create space for this healing and equip you with tools to regulate intense emotions, develop community, and cultivate an overall healthy space for your family to grow. It is not only possible, but essential to reconnect with your authentic self as you nurture the next generation. You are not always directly responsible for your struggles, but you are responsible for your healing. Your inner strength is fully capable of overcoming adversity. Those around you will reap the benefits of a more healed version of you.

If you’re carrying something heavy, you don’t have to hold it alone. Reach out today – I’d be honored to support you in carrying some of that weight.
